Hello babies!

What is your word of the year? We have a few fun and totally not sad options for this year. Emily has a weird, creepy experience with some curtains. Curtains aren’t supposed to do that! Lisa gets a terrible DM on Instagram. On Wiki of the Week, we read the Wikipedia page for “List of premature obituaries.” A premature obituary is an obituary published whose subject is not actually deceased at the time of publication. Who knew not dying could be so fun? We welcome “writer” Jess Dweck who had a particularly bad Airbnb experience. On Expert Hour, we are joined by Ricky Tarps, who gives us some creative pointers on how to eat on a budget.

Ep 178: Wormhole Ambergris (S1E1)

When a reluctant and somewhat recalcitrant Ben Sisko is given command of the worst neighborhood in Starfleet, a tone is set for a very different kind of Trek. But when the locals identify him as potentially playing a major role in their religion, the commander’s commitment to his job comes roaring back. Is the space station a metaphor for urban Detroit? Did someone tell Nana Visitor that she was going to be the star of the series? Is Picard looking at Sisko’s junk? It’s the episode where we trade Picard’s Beavis and Butthead for Sisko’s Woo!

Ross and Carrie Ring in the Apocalypse: Forerunner Ministries International Edition

Ross and Carrie are invited to a church that believes a major apocalypse event is coming on September 23rd. So they show up on September 22nd, sing and dance their hearts out, watch some very bad faith healing, and hear very little about the constellations that are currently aligning and heralding the return of Jesus. Will a man-child be born? Is the Lord doing something great in Victorville? Will the world end on September 23rd, 2017? WILL IT?! Find out in this exciting episode! (Or just check a calendar.)
